About the Role

KIPP NYC is seeking passionate teachers who can inspire and educate students, fostering both academic and character development to prepare them for college and future success.

Responsibilities

  • Plan a college preparatory curriculum aligned with school and New York State Standards, emphasizing critical thinking.
  • Execute rigorous daily college preparatory lessons.
  • Assess student progress and communicate results to students, families, and colleagues.
  • Provide individual and small group instruction to ensure all students achieve mastery.
  • Model KIPP NYC's character strengths in all interactions.
  • Advise a small group of students throughout their four years of high school.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal skills conducive to a collegial working environment.
  • Possess KIPP NYC's valued character traits: zest, grit, hope, social intelligence, gratitude, and a sense of humor.
  • At least two years of teaching experience is strongly preferred.
  • New York State teacher certification in the appropriate content area is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • A passion for being part of a team-oriented, mission-driven school culture.
  • A strong desire to improve as a teacher by joining the KIPP NYC team.
  • Demonstrated success in improving student achievement levels within KIPP NYC communities.

Salary/Compensations

  • $70,829 - $136,704 per year
