About the Role

The Line Cook prepares and executes high-quality menu items to deliver exceptional guest experiences. This role requires culinary skill, attention to detail, and teamwork to ensure all dishes meet quality, presentation, and timing standards within a collaborative kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Set up, stock, and maintain kitchen stations with necessary ingredients and supplies.
  • Perform food preparation tasks including chopping, portioning, sauce preparation, and butchery.
  • Maintain consistency in flavor, portion size, temperature, and presentation.
  • Monitor ticket times and execute orders efficiently during high-volume periods.
  • Follow food storage, labeling, dating, rotation, and inventory practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation in compliance with health regulations.
  • Clean, sanitize, and maintain kitchen equipment and work surfaces.
  • Communicate proactively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure timely order execution.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or equipment issues to leadership.
  • Complete opening, closing, side work, and deep cleaning procedures.
  • Operate grills, ovens, fryers, and knives safely.
  • Support special events and catering functions as assigned.

Requirements

  • One to two years of experience in a commercial, high-volume, or scratch kitchen environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, late nights, holidays, and special events.
  • Current Texas Food Handler's Certification.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions including chopping, reaching, and bending.
  • Ability to work safely around hot surfaces, open flames, and sharp knives.
  • Ability to tolerate varying temperatures including hot kitchens and walk-in freezers.
