About the Role

The Machine Operator is a key member of the Elliott Manufacturing Assembly department. Under moderate supervision, you will be responsible for setting up and operating all relevant machinery, tools, and equipment. You will undertake production tasks in accordance with work instructions while maintaining company safety and quality expectations. You will also perform basic maintenance on equipment, troubleshoot problems, or arrange for supervisor to have equipment repaired or serviced by appropriate technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and program various manufacturing machines (methods, tooling, and fixtures to assure proper methodology).
  • Read and interpret work Instructions and assembly outlines.
  • Review and understand blueprint geometric dimensioning/tolerancing and notes.
  • Apply interpretation of blueprint to assembly build. Ensure all print specifications are met.
  • Inspect assemblies and document dimensional compliance using micrometers, vernier calipers and other measuring instruments.
  • Identify abnormalities and quality defects in assembly build.
  • Use standardized guidelines for setups, tooling, fixtures and equipment.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing assembly or fabrication position.
  • Experience reading blueprints or manufacturing drawings.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, both with respect to managing workload and professional development.

Skills

  • Ability to analyze, communicate and present information accurately and succinctly.
  • Proficiency using electronic spreadsheets, word processing, preferably Microsoft Office applications.
