About the Role
Pallette Stone Corp., a member of the D.A. Collins family of companies, is seeking a reliable Diesel Mechanic for a full-time permanent position at its main facility in Saratoga Springs, NY. The selected candidate will join the Teamsters Union Local 294.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of tasks including lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, stretching, walking, climbing, and bending under potentially adverse field conditions.
- Perform visual tasks such as back-up spotting and react to back-up alarms per safety protocol.
- Demonstrate knowledge of fuel injection systems, diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic, suspension, transmission, and brakes.
- Willingness to work overtime, occasional Saturday shifts, and be on call as required.
- Exhibit flexibility and ability to follow orders independently or in a group setting.
- Adhere strictly to safety rules and regulations.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years’ experience or trade school degree in diesel, trucking, or heavy equipment mechanics/technology.
- Must possess own tools.
- Must pass a pre-hire drug screen.
- Must have a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation to report to work on time.
- Crane Inspection license or the desire to obtain one is preferred.
