About the Role
The D.A. Collins family of companies is seeking a reliable individual for a full-time Diesel Mechanic position at their state-of-the-art shop in Wilton, NY. With over 75 years of experience in industrial, infrastructure, highway, and bridge construction, the company prioritizes safety, quality, and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of tasks including lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, stretching, walking, climbing, and bending under potentially adverse field conditions.
- Perform visual tasks such as back-up spotting and react to back-up alarms per safety protocol.
- Demonstrate knowledge of fuel injection systems, diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic, suspension, transmission, and brakes.
- Willingness to work overtime, occasional Saturday day shifts, and be on call as required.
- Exhibit flexibility and the ability to take and follow orders in an independent or group setting.
- Adhere strictly to safety rules and regulations.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of experience or a trade school degree in diesel, trucking, or heavy equipment mechanics/technology.
- Possession of own tools.
- Must pass a pre-hire drug screen.
- Must have a valid driver's license or reliable transportation to report to work on time.
- Crane Inspection license or the desire to obtain one is preferred.
