About the Role
The Market Director is a strategic leader responsible for driving performance, profitability, and an exceptional customer experience across an assigned market. This role combines the responsibilities of a Territory Manager with the leadership scope of a regional operator, overseeing a select group of stores directly while guiding and developing a team of Territory Managers.
Responsibilities
- Own market performance and profitability by managing all aspects of financial results, operations, and customer satisfaction across the region.
- Lead, coach, and develop Territory Managers to achieve consistent execution, strong leadership, and high-performing teams in every location.
- Directly manage a select group of stores to stay connected to daily operations, customer challenges, and team dynamics, modeling operational excellence.
- Drive sales growth and operational efficiency through data-driven decision-making, clear priorities, and accountability at all levels.
- Champion the customer experience by ensuring service quality, consistency, and adherence to brand standards across the market.
- Recruit, train, and retain top talent while fostering a culture of recognition, engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with partners in Ops & Quality, Sales, HR, and other functions to align strategy and elevate market performance.
- Provide strategic insights and feedback to senior leadership, influencing decisions that strengthen overall business results and field execution.

Requirements
- 5-8 years in the automotive service industry.
- 5-8 years of supervisory experience.
- Multi-unit leadership experience (e.g., Market Leader, District Manager, Area Manager) with full P&L responsibility.
- Strong understanding of retail or service operations, including sales performance, staffing, and operational standards.
- Solid financial acumen and experience interpreting data to drive business results.
- Knowledge of leadership, coaching, and performance management best practices.
- Proven ability to lead through leaders and manage large, distributed teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to influence and inspire at all levels of the organization.
- Skilled in strategic planning, prioritization, and execution in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to analyze business trends and develop actionable improvement plans.
- Demonstrated talent for building culture, accountability, and engagement across diverse teams.
- High degree of emotional intelligence, integrity, and resilience.
- Repetitive movement of hands and fingers, typing or writing.
- Occasional standing and walking.
