About the Role
Catholic Charities of Long Island seeks a Bilingual Outreach Coordinator to promote the WIC program and serve vulnerable neighbors. This role involves conducting informational sessions, developing outreach plans, and collaborating on marketing materials to foster community relationships and provide program assistance.
Responsibilities
- Conduct informational sessions, presentations, and events to promote the WIC program.
- Track outreach activities and maintain accurate records of participant engagement and outreach efforts.
- Prepare reports on outreach activities, voter registration, enrollment statistics, and community impact.
- Conduct training and workshops for community partners and service providers on how to effectively refer eligible individuals to the WIC program.
- Develop and execute a Marketing and Outreach plan to establish long-term relationships with community stakeholders including business leaders, service providers, referral sources, schools, and elected officials.
- Develop and collaborate on marketing materials for community engagement and public relations events.
- Develop, create, and manage content for social media platforms.
- Provide program assistance and perform duties of WIC Clerk or Competent Professional Authority (CPA), as assigned.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in community outreach, public health, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Health with 6 credits in nutrition, Communications, Marketing, or related field.
- Bilingual - Spanish capability.
- Experience with creating content for social media platforms (Instagram and Facebook).
- Experience working with underserved populations, including low-income families, is preferred.
- Familiarity with the WIC program and eligibility guidelines is a plus.
