About the Role

Non-Certified Aides will provide essential support to healthcare professionals by assisting patients with daily activities and personal care. Although certification is not immediately required, non-certified aides must obtain certification based on the state and federal guidelines. Aides will have the opportunity to work closely with residents, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being. This is a rewarding role that allows you to make a positive impact in the lives of others while gaining valuable experience in healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Assist patients with moving around, including transferring from bed to wheelchair, and walking, ensuring safety and comfort.
  • Support patients with eating, including feeding assistance and ensuring dietary needs are met.
  • Assist with monitoring patients' health by reporting any changes in condition, including vital signs, mobility, and general well-being.
  • Record daily activities, patient progress, and any incidents or concerns in patient records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Offer companionship to patients, engage in conversation, and help alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation.
  • Help with housekeeping duties in patients' rooms, such as making beds, cleaning, and tidying up living spaces.
  • Support the healthcare team in administering therapeutic activities as directed, including exercise or rehabilitation routines.
  • Follow proper hygiene and safety protocols to ensure a clean, safe environment for both patients and staff.
  • Collaborate with nurses, aides, and other healthcare staff to ensure patients receive the highest level of care and attention.

Requirements

  • Must obtain certification based on state and federal guidelines.
  • Previous experience in healthcare, caregiving, or a similar role preferred but not required.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic attitude toward patients.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, and work as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy regulations.
  • Willingness to undergo training as required for specific tasks or responsibilities.
  • Frequently lift or exert force up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Frequently stand and walk.
  • Frequently sit.
