About the Role
We are seeking a GMC-registered clinician to serve as the Clinical Safety Officer (CSO) for the company. This role is crucial for achieving our mission of making every NHS appointment bookable and ensuring our products are clinically safe, evidence-backed, and trusted. You will report to a co-founder and collaborate closely with product teams on strategic projects to reach our ambitious target of 500,000 Weekly Appointments Booked across the NHS.
Responsibilities
- Own Class 2a medical device strategy and technical file
- Manage post-market surveillance and ongoing governance
- Lead evidence generation for NHS App integration
- Author academic papers, white papers, and clinical explainers for ICBs
- Oversee clinical safety for all Healthtech-1 products
- Develop DCB0129 documentation, safety cases, hazard logs, and clinical safety reports
- Conduct hazard identification workshops and risk analysis
- Manage clinical incident investigation, communication, and close-loop follow-up
- Ensure safety requirements in PRDs, design reviews, and release gates
- Oversee data required for safety monitoring and risk detection
- Implement risk mitigations that require product changes or design decisions
Requirements
- Must be a doctor registered with the GMC (license to practice not required)
- Must have experience practicing in the NHS
- Must have led an MDR or CE certification process before (class 2 or class 3)
- Must have CSO experience in product teams (not solely within the NHS)
