About the Role

Citi is seeking an Investment Banking Senior Associate for its Technology coverage team. This role is crucial in advising clients on mergers, acquisitions, and capital markets transactions, acting as a strategic advisor to shape outcomes for significant companies. You will collaborate with the Institutional Banking team, bringing deal experience to a high-performing global group.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on mergers, acquisitions, and capital markets transactions as a core member of Citi's Investment Banking team, supporting end-to-end deal execution.
  • Lead and execute financial analyses to evaluate corporate transactions and structures, delivering insights that inform client strategy and investment decisions.
  • Drive capital raising activities and M&A execution by applying sector knowledge and prior investment banking experience to strengthen client outcomes.
  • Develop client relationships and support business development efforts, including industry research, trend analysis, and opportunity identification within the technology sector.
  • Mentor and guide analysts through day-to-day deal work, providing structured feedback, managing information flow, and ensuring strong analytical output.
  • Contribute to building Citi's franchise within the Technology sector by supporting origination efforts and participating in client-facing interactions.
  • Serve as an intermediary in client trading activities, coordinating effectively across internal teams to deliver seamless execution.

Requirements

  • 5 to 8 years of experience in investment banking or a closely related financial services role, with direct exposure to M&A and capital markets transactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and interpret complex financial models and analyses to support transaction evaluation and client advisory work.
  • Series 79 and Series 63 licenses, current or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • Clear and precise written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to evaluate corporate transactions and structures, applying analytical judgment to assess strategic and financial fit.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deal deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or an equivalent field.
