About the Role
The Associate for Admissions assists students and families in aligning educational and career goals with enrollment opportunities at a community college. This role requires travel, independent work, and effective communication to meet recruitment goals.
Responsibilities
- Visits high schools in primary and secondary areas regularly to meet stated marketing goals
- Represents Columbia-Greene Community College at college fairs and admissions-related events
- Coordinates off-campus programs in primary and secondary areas
- Familiarizes students and parents with Columbia-Greene Community College
- Evaluates the appropriateness of travel within designated areas
- Strives to meet and exceed recruitment goals
- Travels extensively to develop interest in Columbia-Greene Community College
- Conducts interviews to further acquaint students with Columbia-Greene Community College and gain knowledge of the prospective student
- Assists in developing, planning and implementing of on-and off-campus programs and events
- Assists in implementing the Admissions Marketing Plan
- Participates in day-to-day marketing activities of the admissions program
- Builds strong relationships with High School Guidance Staff
- Build a network of relationships to expand recruitment of post-traditional students
Requirements
- Associate’s degree with one to three years of experience working in higher education, preferably in an Admissions Office
- Strong customer service skills
- Positive and infectious attitude
- Superior writing and verbal skills
- Excellent interpersonal communications skills
- Ability to speak in front of large groups
- Familiarity with software packages related to admissions
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
- Bachelor’s degree with three or more years of experience working in higher education, preferably in an Admissions Office
- Three or more years of experience working with Banner or similar operating system
- Digital marketing experience
- Bi-lingual a plus
