About the Role

The Indigenous Pathways program is a paid, full-time, 9-month learning and development opportunity designed to support First Nations, Inuit, or Métis individuals in honing their professional skills at CBC. The program provides training within an all-Indigenous cohort, personalized career development, and hands-on work experience. This position is based in Toronto with the Business and Rights team, offering a fantastic opportunity for someone interested in learning more about the business side of the media production industry.

Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative duties related to content licensing
  • Draft production contracts
  • Negotiate rights
  • Maintain relationships with internal clients and external partners

Requirements

  • Must be First Nations, Inuit, or Métis
  • Deep interest in digital and video storytelling
  • Passionate about music, arts, and culture
  • Eager to gain practical, hands-on experience at CBC
  • Critical thinker who demonstrates strong ethics and integrity
  • Collaborative communicator and team player
  • Eagerness to learn about best business practices of the broadcast industry
  • Interest in obtaining permissions for using third party content
  • Interest in working as part of a team
  • Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing
  • Candidates who advance will be asked to complete a background check, including a mandatory Criminal record check
