About the Role

The Indigenous Pathways program is a paid, full-time, 9-month learning and development opportunity designed to support First Nations, Inuit, or Métis individuals in honing their professional skills at CBC. The program provides training within an all-Indigenous cohort, personalized career development, and hands-on work experience. This position is based in Toronto with the Business and Rights team, offering a fantastic opportunity for someone interested in learning more about the business side of the media production industry.

Responsibilities

Perform administrative duties related to content licensing
Draft production contracts
Negotiate rights
Maintain relationships with internal clients and external partners

Requirements

Must be First Nations, Inuit, or Métis
Deep interest in digital and video storytelling
Passionate about music, arts, and culture
Eager to gain practical, hands-on experience at CBC
Critical thinker who demonstrates strong ethics and integrity
Collaborative communicator and team player
Eagerness to learn about best business practices of the broadcast industry
Interest in obtaining permissions for using third party content
Interest in working as part of a team
Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing
Candidates who advance will be asked to complete a background check, including a mandatory Criminal record check
