About the Role

Manage the insurance programs and project specific placements for a large civil contractor operating in over 20 states of the US and Canada. This position will report to the Director of Insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Apply consultative approach to manage client insurance programs.
  • Oversee placement and management of active programs and termination of programs, including associated costs.
  • Manage lines of commercial insurance relevant to the client including but not limited to: Commercial General Liability, Builders Risk, Workers Compensation, Professional Liability, Contractor’s Pollution Liability, Commercial Automobile Liability, Property & Contractor’s Equipment, MLI & Cyber Liability, Controlled Insurance Program (CIP).
  • Leverage internal team, project resources, and client data to review, and evaluate appropriate contract language compliant with client’s insurance protocols.
  • Manage service provider relationships and serve as the intermediary to the project team.
  • Assist the project in providing the carrier and broker accurate premium audit data, equipment lists and completing applications as needed.
  • Attend project risk meetings and track bids in Salesforce to identify new opportunities and provide weekly reports to the Director of insurance on all new opportunities.
  • Maintain all risk management information systems keeping Origami current with all projects, policies, files and updated status notes.
  • In partnership with client, review, evaluate and draft responses of insurance sections of Response for Proposals (RFP), Request for Quotes (RFQ), and Statement of Qualifications (SOQ).
  • Manage communication processes to deliver and resolve sensitive and confidential client information.
  • Participate in industry events as requested.
  • Perform other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of insurance risk management or relevant experience.
  • Possess or willing to attain, Insurance Producer License in home state.
  • Familiar with State and local jurisdiction insurance and claims regulations.
  • Civil construction industry risk management experience is highly preferred.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of contracts, commercial insurance policies, and risk management principles.
  • Excellent comprehension of commercial insurance coverage as applicable to construction and construction related industries.
  • Self-starter with project management skills and capable of managing concurrent complex projects and tasks, and client requests, successfully to completion.
  • Professional customer service skills, interpersonal and teambuilding skills, with ability to engage and work with wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Professional business writing skills and ability to draft language for contractual insurance reviews.
  • Engage professionally to address and discuss confidential information.
  • Ability to explain complex insurance concepts to others with varying levels of insurance knowledge.
  • Proficient in computer skills, Microsoft Office suite of applications, and insurance-based risk management information systems.
  • Limited travel: travel modes include air, train, vehicle.
