  • Conduct detailed policy coverage analysis and provide guidance on complex liability and coverage issues.
  • Escalate significant, large-loss, contentious, or sensitive claims to the Head of Claims, providing clear recommendations and action plans.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reserving practices, maintaining financial discipline and transparency throughout the lifecycle of claims.
  • Manage and oversee the performance of Coverholders, DCAs and other delegated claims service providers.
  • Monitor delegated authority arrangements to ensure compliance with claims handling authorities, service standards, and reporting requirements.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance claims processes, governance, and operational effectiveness.

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Brokers, Insureds, Adjusters, Legal Representatives, and Reinsurers.
  • Represent the Syndicate in market meetings, mediation proceedings, settlement negotiations, and industry forums where required.
  • Analyse claims experience and emerging trends to identify key loss drivers and underwriting opportunities.
  • Provide claims insights and portfolio analysis to Underwriters, Actuaries, and senior management to support business planning and profitability objectives.
  • Attend client meetings to provide claims expertise and strengthen broker and client relationships.
  • Work collaboratively with the Wordings team to identify policy wording issues, emerging coverage concerns, and opportunities for product improvement.
  • Prepare and present claims management information, trend analysis, and performance reports for senior management and relevant committees.
  • Support internal and external audit activities as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, legal, Lloyd's, and company governance requirements.
