About the Role
Responsible for coordinating and supervising day-to-day plant production operations, guiding and assisting employees in achieving production and quality goals, developing team members, and driving safety performance.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the development and execution of site KPIs and the company’s long-term plan.
- Communicate and coordinate with other supervisors/managers to ensure site goals/strategies are met.
- Define resource requirements, plan work, and engage in employee scheduling, including tracking hours.
- Identify, develop, and implement process improvements.
- Lead, coach, develop, and motivate plant staff by providing feedback and conducting formal evaluations.
- May lead Sanitation, Receiving, and Maintenance department staff while on night shift.
- Assist in hiring and training employees and coordinate employee involvement in team building.
- Initiate and attend meetings as required to ensure continuous improvement activities continue as planned.
- Supervise personnel in the efficient use of equipment and materials to produce quality products on time.
- Ensure company policies and procedures are followed and consistently applied.
- Develop and implement activities to ensure Environmental Health & Safety, Quality, and legal standards are met.
- Ensure all products are processed and packed in accordance with Company standards, including HACCP and applicable legislation.
- Manage resources to ensure budget targets are met.
- Engage with maintenance on activities to ensure jobs are completed within a planned time.
- Document departmental performance metrics, including Direct Labor Hours, On-Time Delivery, Training Hours Conducted, errors per employee, and employee productivity.
- Be proactive in satisfying customer needs by communicating requests to sales or other departments within 24 hours.
- Troubleshoot problem orders and follow through from production to shipping.
- Delegate work assignments based on the production schedule and customer requirements.
- Assure employees are at maximum productivity.
- Conduct labor tracking of production orders.
- Demonstrate accountability on operator productivity.
- Assist with production problems.
- Ensure tools and equipment are available.
