About the Role

The Lead Cashier is responsible for efficient guest transactions and maintaining cashwrap standards. This role assists in training new cashiers, drives loyalty results, and supports the leadership team with register functions. The position requires a passion for guest experience, process excellence, and delivering exceptional results by engaging every guest on loyalty benefits.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to meeting or exceeding store goals related to retail and service sales, omni-channel, guest loyalty, and retail shrink.
• Ensure each guest receives exceptional service by providing a guest-friendly environment.
• Courteously handle sales, refunds, and exchanges.
• Ensure each guest receives exceptional service by pairing them with an associate for services like makeup applications and skincare analysis.
• Book appointments for and support the execution of services and in-store events.
• Take ownership over the replenishment, organization, and maintenance of all cashwrap displays, supplies, and impulse fixtures.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.
• Contribute to an inclusive environment that supports teammates and guests.
• Support the leadership team by completing cashier chat ins and chat outs as well as associate exit inspections.
• Stay informed regarding new and existing industry trends, products, and services.
• Share the benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, with guests.
• Assist in the training of new cashiers, and cross-training other associates in cashiering.
• Engage and influence peers to achieve peak productivity and performance.
• Drive cashier accountability in delivering an exceptional, personalized Ulta Beauty brand experience.
• Regularly participate in ongoing training to enable continuous professional development and drive sales performance.
• Collaborate with managers and associates throughout the store to help grow the business.
• Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards.
• Adhere to Ulta Beauty’s dress code.
• Ensure the completion of all transactions and the proper control of all cash and media at the cashwrap.
• Complete select register open and close functions as directed.
• Maintain outstanding store standards and overall store cleanliness.
• Protect company assets and minimize loss by ensuring all store standards and operating procedures are met.

Requirements

• Proven ability to delegate, multi-task, and problem-solve.
• Demonstrated knowledge and passion for guest service and a competency for selling.
• Experience addressing guests concerns and questions promptly and professionally.
• Demonstrated experience in exceeding sales goals and training new hires.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Skills

• Proficient with basic technology (e.g., Point of Sale system and Apple devices)
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
