About the Role

As an Intermediate/Design Engineer, you will take an active role in the delivery of a variety of building projects across the UK, across a range of sectors including residential, education, commercial development, leisure, net zero/low carbon and regeneration. You will have the opportunity to work alongside industry experts with a variety of engineering and consultancy skills to provide integrated coordinated designs with high profile private and public-sector clients and collaborators within an award-winning practice.

Responsibilities

Provide engineering discipline design, analysis, calculation and drawing input
Supervise apprentices and graduates
Identify problems and opportunities, assess and resolve problems using qualitative and quantitative measures
Conduct feasibility studies, cost estimates, and risk assessments for proposed designs
Collaborate with project stakeholders, including architects, structural engineers, and contractors, to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly
Input into the production of high-quality written reports on a range of projects
Prepare and present technical data, drawings and tenders under supervision
Use industry standard analysis and calculation software
Participate in internal reviews
Self-check and check others’ work
Comply with the duties of Designer under the CDM Regulations 2015
Comply with the practice QMS, including self-checking
Communicate clearly and openly internally and externally with peers and clients
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively

Requirements

Experienced mechanical engineer with a good understanding of Building Services MEP
Keen eye for technical detail
Collaborative, proactive and organised
Enjoy working closely with engineers and wider design teams to produce accurate, coordinated and well-presented designs and models
