About the Role

McDougall Energy is seeking an Afternoon Dispatcher to join their Toronto team. This role is responsible for planning, organizing, and dispatching deliveries to maximize efficiency, providing directions to drivers, troubleshooting repairs, generating reports, and communicating with customers. The position operates on an afternoon shift from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and dispatch all deliveries to maximize efficiencies and optimize equipment utilization
• Provide directions to drivers regarding routes and customer requirements
• Work with the Operations Manager and/or Lead Hands to troubleshoot repairs and truck maintenance
• Generate daily, weekly and monthly reporting as required
• Communicate and interface with customers regarding delivery requirements, changes to schedules and any other issues regarding their delivery
• Adhere to all company health and safety policies, standard operating procedures and established industry regulations
• Perform other office administration duties as required

Requirements

• Dispatch and logistics experience
• Geographical knowledge of Southeastern Ontario
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong organization, time management and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multi-task with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
