About the Role

G1 Facility Services is seeking an experienced Lead Engineer to oversee engineering team members and ensure the effective maintenance and upkeep of operations at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations and supervise team members during the assigned shift
  • Evaluate, prioritize, and assign Maximo work orders
  • Manage team productivity and ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time
  • Perform skilled maintenance and mechanical duties
  • Maintain life safety equipment, terminal furnishings, and building systems
  • Execute repairs on electrical components, lighting, space heaters, and door hardware
  • Coordinate workflow and manage resources to support operational goals
  • Respond to service calls involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems
  • Conduct routine plumbing repairs and lighting maintenance
  • Maintain company tools and equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on water heaters, HVAC, and refrigeration systems
  • Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
  • Troubleshoot Muratec and sewage ejector pump systems
  • Operate and reset building fire alarm systems
  • Monitor and adjust the Building Management System (BMS)
  • Diagnose equipment failures and perform corrective actions

Requirements

  • Valid US driver's license with at least 3 years of experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to frequently changing priorities
  • Proficiency in using mobile devices for work orders and logging tasks
  • Ability to work on ladders, lifts, confined spaces, and crawl spaces
  • Must enroll in Local 30 Union upon completion of probationary period
