About the Role
The Senior Director, Scientific Data Operations and Dissemination will oversee all aspects of data collection, management, and analysis for research and evaluation-related data at The Jed Foundation. This role ensures the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data used for program delivery, decision-making, and research, while leading a team to maintain high standards of quality and data dissemination.
Responsibilities
- Oversee research and evaluation-related data collection infrastructure and ensure accurate deployment of tools.
- Develop data collection procedures aligned with security, privacy, and IRB compliance standards.
- Advise on the development of scalable research and evaluation data collection tools.
- Collaborate with Digital Products and Technology teams to leverage integrated data warehouse infrastructure.
- Implement comprehensive data management practices including documentation, codebooks, and analytic guidance.
- Conduct regular data quality coding checks and implement quality assurance protocols.
- Oversee the analysis of diverse data sources to advance scientific and impact priorities.
- Recommend statistical methods to support scientific advancement and data dissemination.
- Produce and present reports for internal and external stakeholders, including publications and grant applications.
- Inform the design of data dashboards to monitor program implementation and field trends.
- Lead and mentor a team of scientists and analysts.
- Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and ethical standards.
Requirements
- Doctoral or Master’s Degree in quantitative behavioral sciences, statistics, public health, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience leading research studies in youth suicide prevention, mental health, or related fields.
- Proven leadership experience including staff mentorship and supervision of multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong background in overseeing research data collection, management, and evaluation methodologies.
- Experience ensuring data collection is Institutional Review Board (IRB) compliant.
- Experience publishing research or evaluation findings in peer-reviewed journals.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
