About the Role

The Assistant Manager Medical Practice provides leadership, management, and oversight to their assigned medical practice. This role works with clinicians and staff to optimize patient flow, reduce errors, improve service access, and enhance the patient experience. The Assistant Manager supports staff in delivering safe, efficient, and patient-centered care, while managing key performance indicators related to growth, operations, patient access, quality, and finance.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the medical practice.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of short-term and long-term goals to grow the business.
  • Manages provider scheduling templates, hours/days of service, no-show rates, and cancellations.
  • Monitors staffing levels to established benchmarks.
  • Participates in staff hiring, SBAR development, orientation, performance reviews, and corrective actions.
  • Proactively solves administrative issues and patient complaints.
  • Trains and educates staff on health system policies, compliance programs, and regulations.
  • Ensures revenue cycle processes support patient experience and efficient billing.
  • Holds monthly meetings with staff to communicate changes and solicit feedback.
  • Develops action plans for meeting or exceeding KPIs.
  • Collaborates with leadership to manage expenses and meet productivity budgets.
  • Manages and maintains the medical practice's physical plant, equipment, and inventory.
  • Oversees patient registration, check-in, point-of-service collections, and data entry accuracy.
  • Provides guidance with scheduling new provider interviews, onboarding, and credentialing.
  • Maintains and models organizational values.
  • Fulfills and adheres to all compliance responsibilities.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal, telephone, and computer skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of practice management software systems.
  • Working knowledge of electronic medical record software systems.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel between practices as needed.
