About the Role
The Pathway of Hope Regional Coordinator provides oversight of the Pathway of Hope (POH) initiative across Corps and POH-specific personnel, ensuring policy adherence, data quality, program implementation, and personnel training. This role collaborates with Corps Officers to enhance The Salvation Army's functions within the Greater New York Division.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Division’s primary representative on matters related to POH, communicating challenges, developments, needs, and successes.
- Monitor, anticipate, and address strategic needs to ensure the POH approach's ongoing success and sustainability.
- Act as the primary advocate of the POH approach between Divisional Headquarters (DHQ) and the Corps.
- Ensure consistent communication by participating in regular conference calls with the Territorial Pathway of Hope Coordinator.
- Collaborate effectively with Divisional Leadership, Social Services Director, Territorial Pathway of Hope Coordinator, Corps Officers, and POH case managers.
- Oversee annual POH evaluations and outcomes measurement for participating Corps, completing summary reports.
- Maintain and update a POH database consolidating program data across all participating Corps.
- Provide ongoing supervision and administrative oversight for POH Corps in implementing Pathway of Hope.
- Create and conduct training sessions for POH Corps Officers and Staff.
- Plan, conduct, and/or participate in POH workshops and training events at various levels.
- Provide direct case consultation and technical assistance to caseworkers and interns.
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate monthly caseworker meetings, offering support and information.
- Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and training new employees for Emergency Assistance and Pathway of Hope.
- Provide guidance and promote the spiritual dimension of Salvation Army social services/ministries programs.
- Ensure relevance of the POH approach to funders by staying current on program funding resources and collaborating with the Divisional Director of Philanthropy.
- Collaborate with the Divisional Director of Philanthropy and Finance Team to manage POH-specific grants.
- Strengthen existing Salvation Army partnerships with external agencies, faith-based communities, and key stakeholders.
- Engage with relevant internal departments and external entities for effective project completion.
- Perform outreach to identify vulnerable persons in need of services and referrals.
- Screen applicants promptly to identify urgency of need and direct them to appropriate services.
- Perform intake interviews and assessments, linking families to resources for urgent needs.
- Conduct comprehensive, individualized, strengths-based, and culturally-responsive assessments of client needs and resources.
- Engage clients in developing and implementing individualized action plans.
- Empower clients to effectively access available resources.
- Provide, refer, or arrange for families to receive needed services and resources.
- Build and maintain relationships with other organizations to guide clients through service delivery.
- Provide support and advocacy to clients by communicating with governmental and non-governmental agencies.
- Monitor and document client progress utilizing standardized forms and entering data into the WellSky/Community Services client database.
- Provide continuity of client services through case transfer or case closure.
- Prepare monthly statistical reports and attend monthly coordination meetings.
- Attend relevant seminars, conferences, and training sessions as assigned.
- Work with a designated Pastoral Care Representative to schedule spiritual guidance sessions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Social Services of Greater New York.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree with 2+ years of experience in social services administration and/or social services programs.
- Experience and/or strong interest in community outreach and community capacity development.
- Knowledge of relevant psychological and sociological, evidence-based practice and its effective application.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of effective policy, report, and technical writing.
- Knowledge and understanding of both qualitative and quantitative data analysis, and capacity to communicate analytics.
- Familiarity with databases, particularly in relation to administration, data quality assurance, policy adherence, and training.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and communicate appropriately at all levels.
- Ability to supervise, maximize, and evaluate the work of diverse department personnel.
- Experience in preparing and delivering engaging and effective oral presentations.
- Knowledge of computer skills in Microsoft, Excel, Fiscal Software, Microsoft 365, SurveyMonkey, and Zoom.
