About the Role
Rotron, a division of AMETEK Aerospace and Defense, seeks an experienced Engineering Manager for its Woodstock, NY facility to lead the engineering design team. The role involves driving design philosophy, meeting customer specifications, and continuous product improvement for AC/DC motors, fans, blowers, fault detection devices, and power converters used in Defense and Commercial Aerospace industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of aerodynamic machinery design, with product requirements encompassing aerodynamic, acoustic, and structural design to support new product development.
Responsibilities
- Advance technological position with innovative technology integration and design for modular reusability.
- Collaborate with electrical, application, and mechanical engineers to conceive new products.
- Support development projects using CFD, FEA, and other analysis and design tools.
- Define product requirements by working with internal business development and sales teams.
- Manage analysis effectively to minimize qualification risks and reduce design time.
- Manage the engineering team on design and development activities to optimize product performance and manufacturability.
- Drive the focus on elegance and simplicity in electromechanical design configurations to meet challenging technical requirements as part of the leadership team.
- Communicate and present to all levels of management.
- Recommend innovative technologies to improve product performance and reliability.
- Provide technical guidance on aerodynamic, acoustic, and structural matters to the engineering team.
- Create engineering analysis, test plans, and technical reports.
