About the Role
This role sits within the Finance department at Chaucer, responsible for preparing internal and external reports, including Lloyd’s regulatory returns, management information, and analytical reporting. The position involves supporting junior team members and contributing to finance transformation projects.
Responsibilities
- Produce Syndicate reporting to Lloyd’s including Flash reports, Solvency UK, US and Canadian situs, RRQ/RRA, QMB, Schedule 3, and NAIC
- Prepare annual and underwriting year financial statements
- Develop analytics and commentary to support regular and ad hoc reporting queries
- Liaise with internal finance stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of reports
- Ensure reports adhere to established timetables and management review processes
- Draft analytical memos to support produced reports
- Support the audit process by liaising with auditors and ensuring timely information delivery
- Maintain a sound system of internal controls
- Document procedures for areas under supervision
- Collaborate on process and reporting improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency
- Participate in finance transformation and other relevant projects
- Provide support and guidance to junior team members
- Assist in the planning and coordination of deliverables
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (CA, ACCA, or CIMA)
- Working knowledge of Lloyd’s accounting and reporting rules
- Knowledge of UK GAAP, Solvency UK, and Companies Act
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Advanced report writing skills
