About the Role
The Casino Host is responsible for providing outstanding guest services to the patrons of the Seneca Gaming Corporation. This role promotes the Player’s Club Card by engaging with prospective members, explaining benefits, and answering questions through various communication channels.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests and encourage Player’s Club enrollment, fostering a positive atmosphere.
- Actively seek new players, verify patron information, and maintain/grow the player database.
- Assist Player’s Club Members with inquiries regarding points, lost cards, and offers.
- Provide comps and services according to company policy, arranging accommodations and amenities.
- Represent the company at internal functions and special events.
- Network and host on-site events to attract new players.
- Complete assigned tasks and achieve goals, including filling rooms, shows, and events with qualified players.
- Work with existing customers to increase trip frequency and profitability, maintaining timely follow-up.
- Market Seneca Niagara Resort and Casino to slot and table players via personal letters, notes, invitations, telemarketing, email, and direct contact.
- Stay current on Player’s Club redemption processes, gaming, and community events, communicating information to guests.
- Practice quality, helpful, and respectful guest services, assisting requests and resolving concerns within authority.
- Award promotional items to winners of Player’s Club promotions.
- Complete necessary paperwork and reports.
- Assist the Marketing Department with special events and promotions.
- Inform Supervisor of inventory needs.
- Adhere to strict confidentiality in all matters.
- Maintain understanding of information security policies and procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service and communicate professionally.
- Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
- Complete all required and recommended SGC Training programs.
- Attend all necessary meetings.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalency required.
- Previous experience as a casino host or three years of experience in a high-volume hospitality environment with extensive customer contact.
- Understanding of player rating systems, casino marketing, and comping is preferred.
- An associate’s degree with two years of hospitality experience may substitute for previous casino host or hospitality experience.
- Strong written and verbal skills.
- Must be outgoing, energetic, enthusiastic, and positive.
- Ability to interact professionally with individuals or small groups.
- Proficient computer skills.
- May be asked to sign a non-compete agreement.
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
- Ability to write routine correspondence and speak effectively to the public, employees, and customers.
- Ability to deal effectively and interact well with customers and employees.
- Ability to define and resolve problems/conflicts diplomatically and tactfully.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino.
- Adequate manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
- Light lifting required.
- Occasional travel, particularly to other SGC properties.
- Maintain physical stamina and mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and the business community.
