About the Role

The Business Data Analyst - Tuition and Fees works closely with academic faculties and non-academic departments to establish processes and complete transactions related to student tuition, incidental fees, and other fees collected through the Office of the Registrar in the Banner Student system. This role requires understanding Ministry policy, accounts receivable practices, and maintaining the accuracy of the Banner tuition and fee tables.

Responsibilities

  • Establish processes and complete transactions for student tuition, related incidental fees, and all other fees collected through the Office of the Registrar in the Banner Student system.
  • Understand and interpret Ministry policy related to tuition and fees.
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of the Banner tuition and fee tables.
  • Process fees related to student accounts and the collection of student account receivables.
  • Make decisions that can impact student finances, academic faculties, department processes, and the College’s financial position.
  • Collect and maintain reports and documents such as the Master Humber College Fee Document to produce a stable, clear, and transparent fee environment.
  • Collaborate with the Data Management & Reporting Analyst, Records and Registration Coordinators, and Financial Services to resolve issues related to fees, enrollment, and financial audits affecting student records and registration.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years' related work experience working in student fee collection or accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of financial statements, receipts, payments, general accounting procedures, and internal controls.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior communication skills with the ability to explain complex processes.
  • Sound understanding of the post-secondary system.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in student information systems, especially relational databases.
  • Ability to work in a highly automated environment.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to guide and motivate a team.

  • Payband H; Salary Range: $37.34 to $43.18; Starting Salary: $37.34
