About the Role

Ofcom is seeking an experienced social media influencer and partnerships manager to explain Ofcom’s work in online safety and other policy areas. This role is crucial for communicating vital information to the public about online safety and involves managing relationships with influencers and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, recruit, and manage relationships with ambassadors (influencers) and partners.
  • Explain important information about online safety to social media audiences.
  • Use research tools to scope and shortlist potential social media influencers and other partners.
  • Initiate contact with influencers or their representatives.
  • Conduct due diligence to ensure influencers are appropriate and responsible spokespeople.
  • Negotiate terms with influencers.
  • Work with selected influencers on messaging and outcomes in partnership with Communications colleagues.
  • Use a range of tools to identify online partners (influencers and bodies) with the reach to communicate online safety and policy areas to new audiences.
  • Work closely with the Insights and Evaluation Lead to select partners and measure the reach and impact of influencer-led communications.
  • Be responsible for all due diligence on potential partners to ensure they are reputable and uncontentious.
  • Directly manage relationships with concurrent partners or their representatives from initial contact through to contract provision.
  • Provide contracts in partnership with Ofcom’s Procurement team.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience in digital communications, including a strong track record in forming and managing influencer relationships.
  • In-depth understanding of modern digital communications, with the ability to make strategic recommendations about channels and spokespeople.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with a thorough approach to delivery and enthusiasm for managing concurrent projects and meeting milestones.
  • Proven commitment to measurement and evaluation, with experience using data and insights to shape communications strategy.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and a willingness to quickly form strong, trusted relationships with internal and external parties.
  • Confidence and comfort in pitching opportunities to partners or their representatives, and negotiating terms.
  • Understanding of, or familiarity with, Ofcom’s regulated industries (in particular online safety) is an advantage.
