About the Role
As an L4 Risk Analyst on the New Account Risk team at Chime, you will protect the enrollment funnel from fraud while ensuring a frictionless path for legitimate applicants. You will analyze data to identify fraud patterns, develop policies, and create dashboards to support team goals of improving the Funnel Enrollment Rate and reducing synthetic identity theft.
Responsibilities
- Analyze enrollment and application data to identify opportunities to reduce synthetic identity and ID theft losses, with minimal impact to legitimate applicants (35%)
- Support the design, testing, and monitoring of new account risk policies and decision rules, partnering with Product and Engineering to ship improvements (30%)
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports that track Funnel Enrollment Rate, fraud loss, and approval/false-positive rates against team goals (20%)
- Monitor the performance of third-party vendor models and risk signals used at enrollment, flagging anomalies and trends to senior team members (10%)
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to fulfill ad-hoc analysis requests as needed (5%)
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a Fraud, Risk, Compliance, or Investigations role, ideally with exposure to new account enrollment, identity fraud, or KYC/CIP
- Working knowledge of identity fraud domains such as synthetic identity and identity theft, and an interest in the threat landscape that targets enrollment funnels
- Strong SQL skills
- Familiarity with Python, R, or a similar analytical language preferred
- Experience with BI tools such as Looker, Hex, or equivalent
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Comfort using AI tools (e.g., Glean, Claude) to accelerate day-to-day analysis
- Exceptional detail-orientation and organizational skills
- Eager to solve challenging analytical problems for our members
