About the Role
The Mobile Adoption Coordinator is responsible for identifying and coordinating animals for adoptions, media, and outreach events. This role also involves finding new event locations, building community partnerships, and coordinating mobile and offsite adoption events with adopters and volunteers. The coordinator must be comfortable driving a 26 ft truck through New York City.
Responsibilities
- Identify appropriate animals for off-site adoption, outreach, and media opportunities.
- Coordinate all logistics for selected animals including scheduling behavior assessments, medical, and transport.
- Secure appropriate photographs for promotion.
- Provide exemplary customer service to adopters by effectively communicating and guiding them through the adoption process at offsite adoption events.
- Accurately communicate animals' medical and behavior needs to adopters.
- Act as an ambassador for the organization in the community by managing and strengthening partnerships with different businesses.
- Serve as a point of contact between ACC and the public, discussing ACC’s mission and services.
- Work with the Foster Team to secure foster placement for animals as needed for media/event opportunities.
- Communicate with all care center departments regarding transportation, medical, behavior, and overall placement for media/event animals.
- Process off-site adoption paperwork at events and upon return to the care center.
- Close animal records, enter microchip/dog license information, and process payments and donations.
- Communicate effectively to a diverse clientele.
- Assist adoption counselors in shelter when needed.
- Oversee routine maintenance of the Mobile Adoption Center, including driving the truck to and from scheduled appointments.
- Supervise and provide training for volunteers at events.
- Prepare the Mobile Adoption Center for each event.
- Clean and restock the Mobile Adoption Center following each event.
- Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive a 26 ft truck.
- Minimum of 2 year’s work experience in a client facing position.
- Strong computer literacy required.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Fear Free certification within 30 days of hire.
