About the Role
Man Group is seeking an Associate Engineer to join their Finance & People Technology team. This role supports the engineering, operation, and continuous improvement of the SaaS estate for Finance and People/HR domains, working across a broad set of best-in-class SaaS tools.
Responsibilities
- Configure, maintain & troubleshoot platforms across Finance and People, including Enterprise Management Cloud, CultureAmp, Kyriba, FloQast, and others.
- Own a share of the Business As Usual (BAU) and support rota, resolving tickets, user queries, and small enhancements.
- Build, support & improve integrations between platforms, primarily using Workato and other middleware, ensuring clean and reliable data flow.
- Monitor, triage & resolve integration errors, applying durable root-cause fixes.
- Deliver process & configuration improvements, refining controls, reducing manual steps, and tightening documentation.
- Utilize AI tools like Claude Code and in-house AI for automation, prototyping, and troubleshooting.
- Implement best practices for scalability, supportability, maintainability, and performance.
- Maintain rigorous change-control & audit documentation.
Requirements
- Some professional working experience (internship, placement year, grad scheme, or 1-2 years in a tech, engineering, BA, HRIS, or finance-systems role).
- Exposure to enterprise SaaS platforms.
- Comfort working across multiple SaaS platforms simultaneously and learning new systems quickly.
- Aptitude for hands-on system configuration and change-control discipline.
- Foundational understanding of integrations (APIs, file-based interfaces, middleware/iPaaS like Workato) and data flow between systems.
- A track record of building simple automations/apps.
- Fluency with, or eagerness to master, agentic AI coding tools like Claude Code.
- Genuine enthusiasm for AI as an everyday engineering tool.
- A curious, builder mindset with a focus on prototyping, automation, and understanding the 'why'.
- Methodical approach to BAU support & troubleshooting, prioritizing root-cause fixes.
- Strong written & verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
