About the Role

As a Business Development Manager, you will identify new business opportunities, win strategic partners, and manage the entire process from market analysis to successful collaboration. This role is crucial for expanding the product portfolio of a dynamically growing e-commerce service agency.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new brands, manufacturers, suppliers, and assortments with e-commerce potential.
  • Research markets, products, competitors, and trends to identify new growth opportunities.
  • Actively approach potential business partners and build/develop new business relationships.
  • Independently manage the new business pipeline from research to contract closing.
  • Evaluate revenue, margin, and assortment potentials to create sound decision-making bases.
  • Conduct negotiations on conditions and contracts with new partners.
  • Support new partnerships until successful handover to internal departments and assist with new assortment integration.

Requirements

  • Completed university degree, preferably with an economic focus.
  • Initial professional experience in Business Development, Sales, Key Account Management, or a comparable commercial role.
  • Affinity for the e-commerce environment or category management is ideal.
  • Enjoy identifying new business opportunities, actively approaching potential partners, and successfully closing deals.
  • Analytical thinking and proficiency with numbers for evaluating economic potential.
  • Good knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets and experience creating simple business cases.
  • Strong communication, negotiation skills, and a convincing demeanor.
  • Structured, self-directed work style with the ability to prioritize and follow through on multiple tasks.
  • Ambitious personality with high self-motivation and a desire to take responsibility in a dynamic e-commerce environment.
  • Fluent German and very good English language skills.
