About the Role

The Global Macro Team collaborates with Mr. Ray Dalio on key initiatives and conducts cutting-edge macroeconomic and markets research that directly impacts the DFO’s investments. This research is often published externally and read by top policymakers and thinkers globally. The work focuses on major global events such as economic crises, asset bubbles, AI's impact on the economy, wars, and new government policies. The role is fast-paced and challenging, requiring curiosity, creativity, and excellence across multiple disciplines including markets, economics, statistics, analytics, history, and writing.

Responsibilities

Conduct major research macroeconomic and market research projects
Partner with the investment associate and leaders to synthesize findings in investment memos
Codify investment understanding in timeless and universal investment systems, typically by programming them in Python
Generate new ideas and perceptions that drive the research agenda
Participate in meetings to develop the process for DFO portfolio construction and diagnostics
Collaborate with global investment teams to ensure consistent execution standards and process improvements
Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program with exceptional academic performance
Strong statistics skillset
Proficiency in Python programming and automation tools
Demonstrated interest in macroeconomics and investing
Academic excellence in a high-performing environment
Independent thinker with sound logic and machine-like thinking
Strong conceptual thinking and analytical thinking
Passionate about markets, economics, and studying how the world works
Intellectually curious with strong critical reasoning skills
Highly motivated self-starter with a desire to get the job done and learn
