About the Role
As our Senior Accounting Manager, you will professionalize and scale our financial processes to keep pace with our expanding footprint. You will ensure reporting accuracy, a smooth close process, and provide financial clarity across all markets as a partner to FP&A.
Responsibilities
- Drive a fast, flawless month-end and year-end close, hands-on with General Ledger (GL) and group accounting (HGB), while overseeing AP and AR teams.
- Own and evolve the Chart of Accounts in collaboration with FP&A to accurately capture e-commerce operations.
- Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in daily financial operations to ensure scalable, efficient workflows.
- Act as the link between operational accounting and financial planning, ensuring reliable data for cost center allocations and reporting structures.
- Lead statutory reporting and external audits across European entities, including regulatory and statistical reporting.
- Establish sensible standard operating procedures (SOPs) and internal controls for a scale-up environment.
Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a comparable qualification.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally with a foundation in a top audit firm and experience in a fast-scaling startup, D2C, or FMCG brand.
- Proficiency in German GAAP (HGB) and experience managing financial reporting for a multi-entity group structure.
- Understanding of inventory accounting, supply chains, and high-volume B2C transactions.
- Ability to discuss consolidated results with the CFO and reconcile GL accounts.
- Excellent communication skills in both German (fluent/native-level) and English.
