About the Role

Under general supervision, the Maintenance Supervisor will oversee repairs and maintenance for assigned site(s). This role involves managing daily activities of custodial/maintenance staff to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintaining clean, safe facilities. The Supervisor will also collaborate with the Maintenance Director on work orders and liaise with contractors for efficient and cost-effective execution of tasks, supporting the mission of Samaritan Daytop Village.

Responsibilities

Maintains property in good condition, complying with building codes and physical plant requirements.
Supervises maintenance, custodial, and projects teams for in-house repairs, alterations, and projects.
Monitors and/or assists with contract compliance for physical plant projects by outside contractors.
Performs necessary repairs as needed.
Handles training, hiring, disciplining, appraising, and terminating subordinate staff.
Maintains, understands, and utilizes specific service contractors.
Devises and executes a plan for keeping site(s) within agency expectations.
Maintains a schedule of general maintenance, cleaning, and general repairs for the facility.
Troubleshoots and responds to all emergencies.
Performs other duties as requested.

Requirements

Licensure in one or more fields such as electrical, plumbing, and general construction.
Clean NYS Driver’s License.
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
At least Five (5) years of experience in renovation, construction, and building maintenance for a large scale employer with multiple sites.
At least Two (2) years of experience functioning in a supervisory capacity.
Working knowledge of all phases of building trades and general knowledge of building repair and maintenance.
Familiarity with housing building and safety codes.
Ability to use common tools, materials, and equipment, and be able to climb ladders and scaffolds and work from either.
Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Willingness to travel to multiple sites and respond to all facilities-related emergencies outside of normal business hours.
