About the Role
The Senior Project Manager applies advanced knowledge and experience in managing large, complex projects and teams within the Technology Division. The Individual Wealth Technology team is looking for innovative, collaborative, and results-driven candidates who can demonstrate these qualities in their work. Responsibilities
- Lead large-scale, high-risk, and complex projects, partnering with business unit and technology leaders, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders to ensure projects are well-defined, planned, and delivered successfully.
- Work closely with project sponsors and delivery leaders to develop comprehensive project charters, including scope, objectives, approach, success measures, stakeholder engagement, and communication plans.
- Develop integrated project plans with strong financial and project acumen, including cost estimates, budgets, resource requirements, and schedules, applying advanced estimation models and managing performance against them.
- Manage project budgets and costs, providing accurate forecasts and analysis of capitalization, amortization, and expense management.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to less experienced Project Managers, promoting best practices and continuous improvement in project delivery.
- Perform advanced risk planning and analysis (qualitative and quantitative), including risk identification, mitigation strategies, and response planning.
- Monitor and track project progress, manage variances, and communicate updates to stakeholders with clarity and transparency.
- Ensure compliance with governance processes, corporate risk standards, and organizational policies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Drive organizational change initiatives and contribute to best practice adoption across teams, including implementing process improvements and efficiency enhancements.
- Successfully transition projects to production and conduct post-implementation reviews to capture lessons learned and optimize future delivery.
Requirements
- 7-10+ years of experience as a Project Manager in a technology delivery environment, with a proven track record of managing large and complex projects.
- Strong knowledge of Individual Wealth policy administration systems, illustration tools, and new business onboarding processes, along with a solid understanding of investment and wealth products.
- Experience delivering technology projects and strategy/governance initiatives.
- Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Iterative, Waterfall) and tools (MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint).
- Demonstrated ability to manage full project lifecycle for multiple initiatives, ensuring delivery of business outcomes that meet schedule, budget, and quality criteria.
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments and adapt quickly to change.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to make sound recommendations in complex situations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence outcomes.
- Business, technical, and financial acumen, including experience with risk assessment and management techniques.
- PMP or equivalent certification preferred; additional certifications in Agile or Scrum are considered an asset.
