About the Role
The Tax Specialist will work on a variety of tax files and provide technical support to team members and clients of Canadian taxation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of tax returns (personal, corporate and trust income tax returns, as well as sales tax returns) and information returns (including partnership returns and foreign reporting forms)
- Assist with income tax and sales tax research for internal and external client needs
- Assist with correspondences and engage in discussions with various tax authorities
- Compile necessary facts, analyze viable options, prepare documentation, and present conclusions in a complete, accurate, organized and professional manner for internal and external client use
- Assist Managers with tax planning for a variety of clients that involve domestic and international income tax and sales tax issues
Requirements
- Relevant coop or internship experience is an asset
- Committed to obtaining a CPA designation
- University degree with a specialization in accounting
- Knowledge of CaseWare and TaxPrep is an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel and Word)
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Excellent organizational skills with a high attention to detail
