About the Role
International Wire Group is hiring experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanics to join their manufacturing team. This hands-on role involves troubleshooting equipment, solving mechanical problems, and ensuring efficient production by repairing and maintaining industrial machinery and supporting maintenance programs.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and manufacturing equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical malfunctions and determine corrective action.
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble machinery and equipment.
- Overhaul gearboxes and replace mechanical components like bearings and bushings.
- Complete electrical repairs and troubleshooting within training and experience level.
- Support the development and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
- Complete assigned maintenance work accurately, safely, and within timelines.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns with a focus on minimizing downtime and restoring production.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical instructions.
- Determine the correct method and sequence for assembling, repairing, or installing machinery.
- Complete work orders and maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and activities.
- Inspect, clean, and maintain tools and maintenance equipment.
- Communicate equipment status, completed work, and outstanding issues to supervisors and coworkers.
- Partner with Production and other departments to identify equipment concerns and support operational needs.
- Apply troubleshooting methods and root-cause analysis to prevent recurring equipment problems.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow company policies, safety procedures, OSHA requirements, lockout/tagout practices, and PPE guidelines.
- Provide support to coworkers and contribute to a positive, team-oriented maintenance environment.
Requirements
- At least three years of relevant maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment and industrial machinery.
- Experience completing electrical and mechanical repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer documentation.
- Candidates should be available for periodic emergency callouts during off-shift hours, including some weekends and holidays.
