About the Role

TVO is seeking a Secondary Curriculum Specialist in Intermediate/Senior Mathematics to guide and inform the creation and review of online learning courses. This role involves ensuring provincial standards for curriculum expectations are met through the development and review of online learning activities.

Responsibilities

• Mentor, coach, and build staff capacity to integrate cutting-edge pedagogy into courses.
• Provide educational expertise in designing, developing, and implementing curriculum and assessment policies and programs.
• Collaborate with staff, teams, and external service providers to define course design requirements, review math courses, and assist with user experience testing.
• Collaborate with teacher writers to align course pedagogy with active learning and plan for course interactivity.
• Work with a cross-functional team to inform the creation of engaging, interactive, rigorous, and relevant course content rooted in cutting-edge pedagogy.
• Present engaging, interactive, rigorous, and relevant courses that support learners of diverse backgrounds and ages.
• Ensure course quality contributes to completion rates and student success, verifying the final product is error-free and meets Ontario's educational standards.
• Adhere to TVO’s Educational Blueprint in all development activities.
• Review, provide feedback on, and co-author course content and related documentation according to TVO's quality and time requirements.
• Build team capacity through pedagogical leadership to serve a diverse learner population.
• Inform and review the creation of course content and digital learning activities.
• Analyze and interpret data sets (e.g., EQAO, TIMSS, PISA) to inform the development of secondary content across all subject areas.
• Support testing of educational content with learner groups.
• Perform other directly related duties as required.
• Communicate progress and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Education with intermediate/senior specialization in Mathematics.
• Additional education or training in a related field is required; a Master of Education is an asset.
• Must be OCT certified.
• 5+ years of classroom experience.
• Proven ability and experience designing appropriate, accessible, and engaging online educational content for online learning environments.
• Ability to develop online learning modules.
• Experience implementing Ministry of Education policy and program requirements (e.g., Transferable Skills, Growing Success, Achieving Excellence).
• Understanding of how to build effective and authentic assessment for learning activities.
• Experience with projects involving the creation of digital assets.
• Strong time management, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• High degree of attention to detail.
• Excellent grammar, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Experience presenting to all levels of leadership.
