About the Role
This role focuses on driving the advisory and risk consulting practice by helping organizations understand, mitigate, respond to, and recover from evolving security threats and risks. Consultants will focus on areas such as corporate security, crisis management, business continuity, enterprise risk management, supply chain risk management, emergency response, and insider risk. The Senior Consultant is expected to market, sell, and deliver end-to-end engagements.
Responsibilities
- Form a strong partnership with the advisory and risk consulting management team to drive long-term, sustainable growth across all risk practice areas in EMEA.
- Partner with clients to understand their strategic objectives and design tailored solutions that strengthen resilience, improve decision-making, and address evolving risk challenges.
- Lead multiple engagements concurrently, working across EMEA and global teams to bring together the expertise, capabilities, and resources required to achieve successful client outcomes.
- Drive the development of innovative consulting products and services, including AI-enabled risk and resilience solutions, that address client needs and maintain Control Risks at the forefront of the sector.
- Own the commercial performance of engagements, ensuring delivery against financial targets, quality standards, timeline, and client expectations.
- Provide robust forecasting, financial oversight, and portfolio management in collaboration with Finance and ARC leadership.
- Drive efficient resource planning and workforce deployment across regional and global teams to maximize utilization and support business growth.
- Lead the pursuit and conversion of strategic opportunities, taking overall responsibility for the development of compelling, differentiated, and commercially viable client proposals.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying client needs and contributing to the expansion of existing and future engagements and accounts.
- Work closely with colleagues across the business to develop integrated solutions that address client challenges and create new opportunities for growth.
- Contribute market insight, sector knowledge, and thought leadership to strengthen Control Risks' market position and support business development activities.
- Identify emerging client priorities and market trends, including AI and technology-driven developments, and help translate these into innovative client solutions.
Requirements
- Experience delivering consulting engagements across crisis management, emergency management, enterprise risk management (ERM), business continuity management (BCM), security management, and organizational resilience in complex or high-risk environments.
- Background in supporting risk, resilience, security, and transformation initiatives, including the design and enhancement of frameworks, operating models, and capabilities.
- Proven ability to manage consulting engagements and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve strategic and operational objectives.
- Commercially aware, with experience in project planning, budgeting, resourcing, and client relationship management.
- Master's degree or advanced diploma in risk management, security studies, geopolitics, international relations, political science, or a related discipline.
- A proven track record in consulting is mandatory.
- Prior experience in a corporate risk, resilience, security, or transformation function is considered advantageous.
- Strong project and stakeholder management capabilities, with experience leading complex engagements and multidisciplinary teams.
- Commercial minded, with basic experience in project planning, budgeting, resource management, and client engagement.
- Strong project and stakeholder management skills within a consulting environment.
- People skills, including the ability to inspire and drive the performance of a team of security professionals.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
- Full professional proficiency in German and English.
