About the Role

Camden is dedicated to improving residents' lives through community focus and social change. This role is crucial in ensuring fire safety across the council's residential housing portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Undertake inspections of communal fire doors within residential blocks.
• Ensure compliance with fire safety legislation, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Identify fire door defects.
• Raise and monitor remedial works for identified defects.
• Undertake post-inspections of fire doors.
• Maintain accurate records to support resident safety and building compliance.
• Support the effective delivery of Camden's fire safety objectives.
• Ensure operational KPIs are achieved.
• Provide a professional, customer-focused service to residents and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience inspecting fire doors within residential settings.
• Good understanding of fire safety legislation.
• Good understanding of passive fire protection.
• Good understanding of industry best practice.
• Confident identifying defects.
• Confident recommending remedial actions.
• Confident maintaining accurate inspection records using digital systems.
• Strong communication skills.
• Organised.
• Customer-focused.
• Committed to helping Camden meet its fire safety responsibilities.
• This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require a Basic DBS.
