About the Role

Responsible for daily duties in the Pro Shop, including greeting guests, managing check-ins, processing retail transactions, and performing opening/closing procedures. This role also involves inventory management, merchandising, and maintaining a professional shop environment.

Responsibilities

  • Check in golfers and accurately ring up charges in the Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Process purchases, credit, and gift card transactions using the POS system.
  • Answer the telephone and manage the reservation system.
  • Assist subscribers and guests in creating a pleasant shopping experience.
  • Assist and follow up with subscribers and guests on special orders and retail needs.
  • Assist in merchandising and creating visually pleasing displays.
  • Maintain a pristine shop appearance and organize merchandising displays.
  • Maintain a professional and service-oriented environment using excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Possess full knowledge of golf tournaments and events to answer related questions.
  • Book lessons and tee time reservations for the Golf Professional Staff.
  • Follow guidelines for opening and closing duties, including cash handling.
  • Tally the tee sheet at the end of the day.
  • Adhere to proper cash handling procedures and standards of operations.

Requirements

  • A general understanding of the game of golf.
  • Preferred experience in the service industry.
  • Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work.

Skills

  • Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends & holidays as required.
  • Knowledge of the game of golf.
  • General computer skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to set a positive tone and strong work ethic, leading by example.
  • Maintain professional presentation (must adhere to company and department dress code).
  • Outstanding guest service skills.
  • Ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to keep all areas of the pro shop neat and tidy.
