About the Role
Turner & Townsend is recruiting for a Senior Cost Manager to join the London-based Developer Team, supporting projects within the High-End Residential sector. The team works on a range of projects for public and private sector clients, including the refurbishment of listed buildings, social housing developments, office fit-outs, and residential schemes. Projects vary in scale and complexity, from smaller refurbishment projects to larger new-build developments.
Responsibilities
- Support the preparation of feasibility studies and procurement reports.
- Prepare cost estimates and cost plans, including the presentation of final cost plans.
- Manage tendering and procurement activities, including pre-qualification, tender lists, preliminaries, tender analysis, and tender reporting.
- Manage post-contract cost variations and change control processes.
- Undertake cost checks and valuations, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- Produce and present monthly post-contract cost reports.
- Contribute to value engineering activities.
- Negotiate and agree final accounts.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and other project stakeholders throughout all project stages.
- Lead and coordinate the activities of the cost management team, ensuring delivery of assigned responsibilities.
- Identify potential opportunities for additional services with existing clients where appropriate.
- Support the preparation of bid and proposal documentation.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of cost management procedures, templates, and tools.
- Maintain project information and lessons learned within internal systems and databases.
- Monitor project financial performance using FMS.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and communicate recommendations through appropriate channels.
- Review commission management activities to support quality and efficiency objectives.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying
- MRICS qualified
- UK Cost Management experience within the Real Estate/Property sector
- Experience working on larger projects
- Experience working on new build and fit-out projects
- Excellent communication skills and client facing.
