About the Role

The Agency and Behavioral Support Counselor will provide support, coordination, and training across programs to ensure a safe and therapeutic treatment environment. This role serves as a role model by demonstrating professional skills and adherence to agency policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide agency staff with guidance in the performance of their duties.
  • Manage off-site and in-house visits and assist in the coordination of staff assignments for transportation.
  • Assist the Medical Clinic with the scheduling of medical appointments and hospital supervision.
  • Assist outside visitors and families upon arrival and direct them to appropriate areas.
  • Oversee crisis situations and conduct frequent agency checks, directing staff to ensure agency safety.
  • Ensure immediate post-crisis response is conducted according to Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) standards and guidelines.
  • Maintain an accurate and current daily log, census, record of client movement, staff list, and assigned crisis teams.

Requirements

  • Minimum six (6) months working with children and families with mental/behavioral health issues, preferably in a residential treatment setting.
  • Proficiency in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as a team member.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
