About the Role

The Manager, Finance is a key contributor to daily financial operations, responsible for processing accounting transactions, ensuring financial record accuracy, supporting premium and claims accounting, and assisting with monthly financial reporting in a fast-paced insurance environment.

Responsibilities

• Process broker statements, premium payments, and bordereaux reports.
• Reconcile premium receivables, payables, and trust accounts.
• Assist with monthly and quarterly premium and claims bordereaux validation and uploads.
• Coordinate with underwriting, claims, and broker partners to resolve discrepancies.
• Enter and maintain accurate financial data in accounting systems.
• Process accounts payable invoices and employee expense reimbursements.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and support fiduciary accounting entries.
• Assist with accruals, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
• Support the implementation and testing of accounting process improvements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure strong financial controls and data integrity.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of industry accounting experience.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Insurance industry experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of premium accounting, bordereaux data, or MGA/Carrier accounting is preferred.

Skills

• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Proficiency with MS Excel including pivot tables and lookups.
• Experience with accounting or policy-administration systems.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills.
