About the Role

Transport for London (TfL) Engineers are forward-thinking professionals who maintain legacy assets and deliver new systems and solutions. Responsibilities

Developing safe, cost-effective electronic equipment engineering solutions across the organisation.
Providing technical support to operations and projects requiring specialist electronics expertise.
Supporting legacy rolling stock and signalling systems used on London Underground.
Designing bespoke test equipment for legacy assets.
Diagnosing faults on complex electronic systems, occasionally without design documentation.
Designing and building bespoke test equipment to test legacy electronic systems and assets.
Delivering projects through the complete life cycle, from concept to operational service.
Sharing electronics knowledge and guiding other engineers on system design, build, and implementation.
Conducting reactive repair, reverse engineering, and failure investigation.
Designing and approving new systems.

Requirements

Strong technical knowledge and understanding of modern and legacy system design with emphasis on analogue electronics.
Good understanding of electronic components, their use, and failure modes.
Good understanding of electronics design in safety-critical applications.
Proven experience of design and maintenance of complex electronics and electrical systems.
Basic knowledge of rolling stock and signalling system safety concepts, and practical methods to maintain system safety.
Willingness to share electronics knowledge and guide other engineers.
Ability to demonstrate right to work in the UK.
