About the Role

This live-in position manages the residence hall's day-to-day community development initiatives and programs, reporting to the Residence Hall Director (RHD) and serving as a member of the three-person leadership team. The role supervises Resident Assistants (RAs), advises the hall council, and provides crisis intervention and policy violation investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Manages community development initiatives and programs.
  • Supervises Resident Assistants (RAs).
  • Advises hall council.
  • Provides crisis intervention to residents.
  • Conducts investigations of alleged policy violations.
  • Issues sanctions for policy violations.
  • Performs assigned after-hours/weekend/holiday on-call duties.

Requirements

  • 2 years relevant experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience in community development activities and programming.
  • Experience in student staff supervision.
  • Experience working within a residential life/housing program in a university environment.
  • Experience with crisis response, student advising, community development, and large-scale program planning.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good leadership and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations.
  • Ability to communicate with a diverse population.
  • Ability to supervise staff.
  • Ability to work with standard office software package.
