About the Role

Circle K is a leading convenience and mobility provider with over 17,000 stores in 29 countries. We are seeking an experienced Tax Controller with a focus on indirect taxes to join our Tax Team in Germany. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Tax Managers in Germany and our Shared Service Center in Riga to ensure the tax compliance of our company.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve VAT returns prepared by the Shared Service Center.
• Assist with the preparation and submission of excise tax returns.
• Ensure correct tax accounting for indirect taxes.
• Conduct and further develop internal tax controls and processes.
• Support with tax-related questions concerning VAT and excise taxes.
• Participate in national and international projects with tax relevance.
• Accompany internal and external tax audits.
• Monitor and evaluate legal changes in the area of indirect taxes.

Requirements

• Successfully completed studies in Finance, Tax, Accounting, or a comparable field.
• Several years of professional experience in Tax, Accounting, or Finance with a focus on VAT.
• Sound knowledge in the area of indirect taxes.
• Experience with excise taxes is an advantage.
• Proficient in using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, JD Edwards, or comparable).
• Very good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
• Structured, analytical, and independent way of working.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Very good written and spoken German and English skills.
