About the Role

Serve as a senior lead on TMT communications mandates in the London market, working with a diverse range of clients. The TMT team offers comprehensive strategic communications counsel, including managing corporate reputation, developing campaigns, handling crises, and fostering thought leadership. This senior position involves ownership of client relationships, guiding account teams, and contributing to practice growth.

Responsibilities

  • Confidently manage sophisticated communication programmes, becoming the go-to person clients trust.
  • Shape corporate reputation and narrative, handling sensitive or contentious issues with care.
  • Provide trusted advice to help clients find their authentic voice and communicate sincerely, even in tough situations.
  • Lead corporate communications campaigns, finding unique angles and grounding strategies in research, data, and insights.
  • Ensure messages reach key audiences, including policymakers, journalists, community members, and the wider public.
  • Manage accounts effectively, spotting and resolving issues related to budget, scope, and deliverables.
  • Nurture current relationships and build new ones, offering creative ideas to existing and potential clients.
  • Bring a point of view on how AI and digital tools can sharpen research, drafting, and analysis.
  • Pitch AI-enabled ideas to clients that drive genuine insight, efficiency, and value.
  • Help build AI capability in teams, choosing the right tools and setting realistic adoption expectations.
  • Act as a leader on account teams, setting work standards, giving actionable feedback, and sharing experience.
  • Build strong partnerships across the practice.
  • Lead and participate in pitches and proposals.
  • Spot opportunities to introduce FTI's wider services to clients.
  • Represent the firm's values and standards, including a commitment to the code of conduct.

Requirements

  • Senior-level communications experience, typically 7+ years, gained in an organisation with a strong TMT focus or in a senior in-house role at a TMT business.
  • Independently led significant communications mandates.
  • Strong track record in corporate communications: reputation and positioning, campaigns and narrative strategy, and counsel on sensitive or contested issues.
  • Creative instinct for narrative and campaigns: ability to find a fresh angle, build it on solid research and data, and turn it into coverage and influence.
  • Demonstrated success in business development: winning, growing, and retaining client relationships.
  • Judgement to advise senior stakeholders, up to and including boards and executive teams.
  • Presence to hold the room and stay calm when the stakes are high.
  • Excellent writing and the ability to make a sharp, credible case.
  • Practical, curious view on how AI is changing communications work, and a willingness to put it to use.
  • Collaborative approach and proven experience of working in an integrated way with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Direct experience across several TMT sub-sectors, for example software, telecoms, fintech, media, consumer tech or deep tech.
  • Experience working across regulatory, media and public audiences on politically or socially sensitive issues.
  • Experience of transaction communications: IPOs, divestments, M&A, fundraises.
  • A feel for how the media and information landscape is shifting.
  • An established network across the TMT, investor and media community, or a clearly demonstrated ability to build one.
