About the Role
The Mayor’s Office of Mass Engagement (OME) is responsible for strategizing, coordinating, and executing engagement that reaches everyday New Yorkers, empowering them in policy outcomes and ensuring government accountability. This role is crucial for building a city that works for all residents.
Responsibilities
- Organize administration’s relationship management for key policy delivery and events.
- Develop and implement systems for outreach and coordination across teams.
- Facilitate collaboration with advocates and member-based organizations.
- Keep stakeholders informed of Administration updates through events and briefings.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with advocates, member-based organizations, and key stakeholders.
- Define purpose, size, scale, and type of engagement for announcements and events.
- Collaborate with various city offices to ensure coordinated and strategically aligned outreach efforts.
- Track and manage engagement activities, maintaining organized records of stakeholder relationships.
- Anticipate stakeholder concerns and proactively share insights with relevant teams.
Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and 3 years of experience in government and/or community organizing centered activities.
- High school graduation or equivalent and 4 years of experience in government and/or organizing centered activities.
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to the above, with at least one year of experience in government and/or community organizing.
- Experience in government and/or community organizing.
