About the Role

Join the Datadog Procurement team and expand the Strategic Sourcing group. Serve as a subject matter expert in buying categories and demonstrate the value of Strategic Sourcing to the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic sourcing for enterprise SaaS and IT categories, managing net-new purchases and complex renewals through a documented evaluation process.
  • Own software license and subscription strategy, optimizing entitlements and planning for future renewals.
  • Lead the IT hardware procurement team, balancing demand with headcount and growth while leveraging OEM/distributor relationships.
  • Drive the transformation of IT Procurement from transactional to strategic by standardizing processes and establishing metrics.
  • Develop stakeholder relationships and collaborate on purchase plans, negotiating terms with vendors.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Procurement Operations, Legal, Security, IT, and Office Operations for compliant execution.
  • Create pricing models to quantify buying scenarios based on vendor proposals.
  • Manage and develop a direct report, with potential to lead a larger team.
  • Assist teams in evaluating best practices and adopting a value-driven purchasing mindset.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in procurement through strategic sourcing with a history of negotiated savings.
  • Deep experience in the IT hardware supply chain, including OEM/distributor management, inventory planning, global logistics, and replenishment processes.
  • Experience at a high-growth company, understanding expansion nuances and leveraging buying power.
  • Ability to analyze and present complex data to executives and business partners.
  • Highly organized, diligent, and capable of managing multiple projects.
  • Proven track record of creating strong partnerships with stakeholders.
  • Proficient in analyzing costs related to future growth and current demand.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous situations.
  • Experience managing, mentoring, or developing procurement/sourcing talent, or readiness for direct people leadership.
